UPS Error Code 9264030-The state is not supported in the Customer Integration Environment
When testing your integration with UPS using your shipping solution, you may come across a hard stop message "9264030 - The state is not supported in the Customer Integration Environment".
What does this imply ?
This error appears when your shipping solution has Address Validation activated and pointed / interacting with UPS' Test / Sandbox Environment (in Test Mode). Since the extent of functionalities offered in Test Mode may be different from that in the Live/Production environment, this behavior is normal in an API integration.
How can this error be resolved ?
Based on the capabilities offered by your shipping solution, you could opt for one of the two most common options below. Your shipping solution may offer other alternatives, which you can check with their support team, or reach out to us for advise.
Check for the settings using which you can disable Address Validation, when creating shipments in UPS' Test server (endpoint).
When working in a non-Production environment, change the setting ONLY for the Address Validation feature to point to UPS' Production endpoint. This way, only Address Validation will be carried out using UPS' live system. With the correct setup, the actual tracking number should still be created in UPS' Test/Sandbox environment.
